About
A Long Way To Go
A Long Way To Go is a platform for women seeking clear, credible guidance through pregnancy, postpartum and beyond. It brings together insight from qualified professionals across women’s health, fitness and wellness, offering practical, evidence-based advice on caring for your body and mind during periods of profound change.
From safe and effective movement to skin and hair care, nutrition, mental health, sex and recovery, ALWTG exists to help women better understand what’s happening in their bodies, and to feel supported while navigating it. Whether you’re adapting to physical shifts, managing emotional changes or simply looking for reassurance, the platform meets women where they are.
At its core, A Long Way To Go recognises that every woman’s experience is different. There is no single timeline or expectation. ALWTG champions strength, confidence and progress on your own terms.
This chapter isn’t about ‘bouncing back’; it’s about moving forward at your own pace, and in your own way.

Partnerships
We collaborate with brands, organisations and experts to create thoughtful events, conversations and experiences that improve women’s understanding of pregnancy and the postpartum period.
Partnerships can take many forms, from co-hosting events and experiences, to inviting ALWTG’s founder to host panel discussions, contribute editorial insight, or help translate research into accessible conversation.
All collaborations are grounded in a shared commitment to evidence-led information and meaningful impact.
Podcast
Launching in spring 2026, the A Long Way To Go podcast brings together leading experts in pregnancy and postpartum health to share clear, research-backed insight women can trust.
Each episode is designed to demystify complex topics and support listeners in making informed choices about their bodies and wellbeing. Every listener should come away having learned something new, practical, reassuring and empowering.
Sponsorship enquiries and expressions of interest from expert contributors are welcomed.
Events
We host in-person wellness events that give women space to pause, connect and care for their bodies.
From panel discussions and Pilates classes to shared lunches and community runs, our events are designed to feel supportive, inclusive and restorative.
Where possible, on-site childcare is a priority, recognising the practical barriers many women face when accessing wellness spaces.
Testimonials
“It was a pleasure to collaborate with ALWTG for their recent postpartum Reformer Pilates event. We're strong believers in Mums prioritising their own wellbeing, and ALWTG's event really highlighted why creating spaces for this matters so much during the postpartum period. We absolutely loved being a part of an event that celebrated movement, support and community, encouraging Mum's to feel better connected to their bodies and to one another.”
— Ellie, postnatal coordinator at LevelOut London
“What Katie is building with ALWTG is so important. She’s tackling the huge gap in clear, evidence-led information around women’s bodies — from fitness and sexual health to skincare and hair care. It’s shocking how much of this feels like ‘new news’ to so many mums, and Katie is changing that in the most empowering way.”
— Georgie Harris, co-founder of Mums Who Build
“I came across ALWTG when I was a few months postpartum and looking to get back into exercise, but unsure how to go about it safely! ALWTG has been so helpful and provided expert-supported information that felt relevant to me, in particular focussed on C-section recovery and postpartum hair loss. I’ve also loved hearing personal stories from other mums and their pregnancy and postpartum journeys!”
— ALWTG member, Kate (mother-of-one)
Meet our founder, Katie O’Malley
A Long Way To Go was founded by journalist and broadcaster Katie O’Malley, after she found herself feeling unexpectedly lost during her own pregnancy and postpartum experience. Despite having spent years writing about wellness and women’s health, Katie often struggled to find clear, trustworthy explanations for what was happening in her body and reassurance about what was “normal”. That disconnect highlighted how many women are left navigating this period without widely accessible, evidence-led information or space for open conversation.
As the former digital editor at ELLE UK, Katie has interviewed everyone from Oprah Winfrey and world leaders to medical experts and cultural figures. She is an award-winning journalist who has written extensively for international publications on women’s interest stories, wellness, fitness and health, and has worked with brands including Cartier, Tiffany & Co., Dior and lululemon.
Katie is focused on bridging the gap between journalism and women’s health advocacy. Through ALWTG, she aims to make complex information feel clearer and more human, amplify expert voices, and ensure that access to high-quality guidance isn’t determined by privilege, particularly at a time when women are often at their most vulnerable.
